Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Crash Near Erieau

police An Amherstburg woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle collision.

According to Chatham-Kent police, the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Erie Shore Drive outside of Erie Beach. Police reported that she lost control of the Pontiac Grand Am she was driving and ran into a ditch.

The 51-year-old was taken to the ChathamKent Health Alliance with life-threatening injuries and was later moved to London for additional medical treatment.

Sunday’s accident was the second serious collision in the last week. On Thursday, several people were taken to the hospital following an accident in Windsor at the intersection of Walker Road and Seneca Street.

According to reports, a pickup truck struck two other vehicles, sending one flying into the Knights of Columbus building, where it smashed out a window.
