Chatham-Kent police reported a crash between a freight train and a motor vehicle this weekend. Two men sustained injuries in the collision and were taken to hospital for further medical care.
Police say the crash happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Sunday in Thamesville near Base Line and Industrial Road.
Victims Transported to Hospital With Injuries
According to CK News Today, both victims involved in the crash needed further medical treatment. The driver of the vehicle, a 48-year-old male from Dresden, was taken to nearby Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. His passenger, a 50-year-old man and also from Dresden, was air-lifted to a London hospital.
No further details about the victims’ injuries or current conditions have been released.
Witnesses Are Asked to Contact Police
Often a train crash may be the result of some type of mechanical failure, maintenance issue or human error. However, no information about the crash or how it happened is available at this time.
Police ask any witnesses to contact Constable Lisa Rodger ([email protected]) with any known details.
