A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in West Windsor after being struck first by one vehicle and then another this past Sunday night.
The victim, a 62-year-old man, was crossing Sandwich Street when an oncoming vehicle hit him hard enough to throw him into the lane of traffic going in the opposite direction. He was then struck a second time by another vehicle in that lane. The man suffered life-threatening injuries requiring him to be transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police investigating the incident say both drivers remained at the crash scene. Traffic on Sandwich Street was closed to traffic between Mill Street and Detroit Street to allow the traffic reconstruction unit to investigate the scene. The streets reopened several hours later.
