Joanna Sweet to Moderate Panel at the 2026 OTLA-CDL Joint Personal Injury Conference

We are pleased to announce that our managing partner Joanna Sweet will be moderating a panel at the OTLA-CDL Joint Personal Injury Conference on February 26, 2026, in Toronto.

About the Conference

The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and Canadian Defence Lawyers are joining forces for a full-day conference designed to bring plaintiff and defence counsel together under one roof. Taking place at the OBA Conference Centre in Toronto, the conference runs from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and covers a range of complex personal injury topics from both sides of the bar.

This collaborative format gives attendees a rare opportunity to gain perspective on how personal injury matters are approached and handled by both plaintiff and defence practitioners.

Joanna’s panel, “Common Discovery Issues,” is scheduled to begin at 10:35 a.m. and will address common practice hurdles and trial preparation challenges from both plaintiff and defence perspectives.

The panel presenters, Liane Brown of Oatley Vigmond LLP and Grant Bodnaryk of Dearden & Associates, will offer contrasting viewpoints on the challenges that commonly arise during discovery — including evidence collection and witness preparation.

Given that session timings may shift slightly on the day, attendees are encouraged to arrive early and check the schedule upon arrival.
