Pedestrian in Wheelchair Dies After Being Hit By a Vehicle

pedestrian in wheelchair hit by carOn Tuesday afternoon, an unidentified man died of his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Tecumseh Road East.

Traffic on Tecumseh Road was shut down between Buckingham Drive and Rivard Avenue for several hours following the deadly collision. It has since been reopened.

Police at the scene say the man, who was elderly and wheelchair-bound, was hit as he attempted to cross the street. Although he was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries, the victim did not survive.

The investigation into the cause of the crash continues. Accident reconstruction officers were also brought in to aid the investigation.

According to an article in Windsor CTV News, charges are pending.
