Unsafe Turn Causes Motorcycle Crash and Vehicle Fire in Sarnia

A motorcycle and another vehicle collided at Indian Road and Talfourd Street in Sarnia during the afternoon rush hour on Friday. The crash occurred when both vehicles attempted to make a turn at an intersection. The driver was heading east while the motorcyclist turned west.

Motorcycle Accident Sends Rider to Hospital

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident failed to notice the approaching motorcycle as it made the turn. The impact ejected the motorcyclist onto the vehicle’s hood, resulting in serious, but non life-threatening injuries. The motorcyclist sustained pelvic injuries and an open arm fracture but is expected to make a full recovery, despite being hospitalised. The driver and passengers of the other vehicle were not injured.

Driver of Motor Vehicle Cited for Dangerous Turn

Both vehicles caught fire shortly after the collision, but all individuals were able to safely exit their vehicles before firefighters arrived at the scene. Additionally, the driver of the car was issued a citation for unsafe turning practices.
