The second fatal accident occurred Sunday morning on Creek Road near Maynard Line, just outside Chatham. A vehicle left the roadway at about 1:30 a.m. and crashed into the home of a local resident. The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Tilbury, sustained serious injuries in the crash.

She was transported to a London hospital for specialised treatment but died from her injuries the following day. A 24-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries in the single-vehicle collision, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
