A single personal watercraft was involved in a collision on Lake St. Clair in Lakeshore late Thursday afternoon.
Four individuals involved were injured, one fatally. A 17-year-old female was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. A 16-year-old female also sustained life-threatening injuries. She was airlifted to a trauma centre in London, where her condition remains critical. Two other teens involved in the crash were taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

According to CBC News, Const. Steven Duguay stated in a Facebook video post that Ontario provincial police (OPP) were called to the scene near Couture Beach at approximately 2 p.m. in the afternoon. According to this video and other news posts, the crash involved an individual personal watercraft that was towing a tube. It is not yet clear why, but the the watercraft and tube crashed into a steel breakwall.
No other details about the collision or those involved are being released at this time. The OPP continue to investigate the cause of the crash and ask those with information to come forward.
