Police Continue Investigating Serious Collision Involving Two Vehicles and a Pedestrian

empty hallway in hospital with empty bedThere was a serious crash in Chatham-Kent over the weekend. A red pickup truck hit a pedestrian, struck a utility pole, and then crashed into a vehicle that heading west. The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

The pickup truck driver went up onto the sidewalk on the southern side of the road, which is where the pedestrian crash happened. The pickup truck driver then hit a utility pole, before veering back onto the road before hitting a westbound vehicle.

A total of five people suffered injuries in this collision. The pedestrian only suffered minor injuries while a passenger in the truck was taken to Windsor Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck and the driver of the second vehicle had non-life-threatening injuries.

A 65-year-old passenger in the second vehicle had serious injuries and had to be taken to London Health Sciences Centre. She is in stable condition.
