A tragic collision last week has sadly claimed the life of a Ridgetown woman. The traffic incident occurred last Thursday morning, at approximately 10:32 a.m.
Chatham Kent Police Service and the Traffic Management Unit responded to the call and investigated the scene. According to CBC News, both vehicles involved had a single occupant.
The fatal two-car collision occurred on Longwoods Road between Pitt Street and Wallace Road. The most seriously injured driver, a 29-year-old Ridgewood woman, sustained life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Four Counties Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The other driver, a 29-year-old man, was not seriously injured. He was taken to Chatham Kent Health Alliance for a medical evaluation and treatment of his minor injuries.
The crash closed down Longwoods Road for several hours while TMU and police investigated the scene. It has since be reopened, but the investigation will continue.
