Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Crash on Hanna Street East

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Hanna Street East and Windsor Avenue – near Jackson Park .

The incident occurred when the driver of a vehicle traveling eastbound on Hanna Street ran through the stop sign and crashed into a vehicle that was headed north on Windsor Avenue. The force of the crash pushed one of the vehicles toward the sidewalk, striking the victim, a 58-year-old male pedestrian, while he was walking.

The pedestrian was critically harmed and transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. According to a news report, police closed traffic to Hanna Street from Goyeau to McDougall streets, and on Windsor, from Tecumseh Road to the area slightly north of Hanna.

In a later update, police provided an update, stating that the area would remain closed to allow their investigation to continue. Police did not provide details on whether any charges were pending.
