At Greg Monforton & Partners, we are excited to announce a reception sponsored by the Essex Law Association in honour of Jacqueline Horvat.
Jacqueline Horvat has been elected Treasurer by the Law Society of Ontario’s (LSO) governing body (Convocation). The LSO’s responsibility is to regulate Ontario’s lawyers and paralegals in the public interest. Treasurer is the top-elected official within the LSO.

First called to the Ontario bar in 2002, Treasurer Horvat is only the sixth woman to serve in this position during the LSO’s 225-year history. However, she is no stranger to serving in the LSO.
Treasurer Horvat served her first term as Bencher after being elected in 2011. She was serving her third term as Bencher when she was elected as Treasurer.
Benchers serve the public interest through committee work and regular monthly meetings. Their responsibilities also include setting policy and determining other matters related to the regulation of Ontario’s lawyers and paralegals. This includes sitting on panels to act as adjudicators in discipline cases through the Law Society Tribunal.
Treasurer Horvat was elected on June 15, 2022 and officially took office on June 28, 2022.
Congratulations Madame Treasurer!
