18-Year-Old Killed, Woman Injured in Head-On Collision in Tecumseh on Monday

police lights at nightThere was a head-on collision on Manning Road in Tecumseh last night. According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the crash involved two vehicles, one with an 18-year-old driver and the other with a 44-year-old woman. The 18-year-old was killed while the woman had to be airlifted to the hospital, even though her injuries were not life-threatening, according to OPP.

Emergency responders and police headed to the scene at about 10 p.m. The crash occurred between Baseline Road and Walls Road. This is on the boarder of Lakeshore and Tecumseh.

This stretch of Manning Road is a county road with only two lanes traveling in opposite directions. There is no meridian, street lights or traffic lights and the speed limit on this stretch of road is 80 km/h.

Manning Road had to be closed for several hours while investigators surveyed the scene. At 5 a.m. this morning the road was reopened.
