Today, Greg Monforton & Partners observes Remembrance Day. Also known as Poppy Day, wearing a poppy on ones lapel along with the slogan Lest We Forget are time honoured traditions of Remembrance Day celebrations.
Remembrance Day serves to memorialize the members of our armed forces who have died in the line of duty as well as those that continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. Since 1913, the holiday has been observed in all three territories and in six of the ten provinces, including Ontario.
A number of events will be taking place throughout Ontario, many parades will begin at 10:15 a.m. while Remembrance Day services will begin at 10:45 a.m. From Toronto to North York to Brampton, Canadians will find a number of events that will allow them to pay their respects.
Poppies can be purchased through The Royal Canadian Legion and by donation at boxes in stores and public spaces across the greater Toronto area. People can also show their support on social media by adding poppies to their profile photos.
At Greg Monforton & Partners, we recognize the sacrifices those in our armed forces have made and continue to make each and every day.
We salute you!
