The accident is one of many that occurs on E.C. Row Expressway every year. Between wrong way drivers, distracted drivers and drunk drivers, thousands of motorists on the expressway are put at risk by negligent actions.
In May 2015, a study by Windsor Citys Engineer, Operations Department and Transportation Planning Division revealed that the intersection of Banwell Road and E.C. Row Express way was one of the most dangerous intersections between 2009 and 2013. More than 125 accidents were reported in the area during that time period.
