E.C. Row Expressway closed Overnight after Multi-Vehicle Crash

red sedanMultiple vehicles were involved in an accident on the E.C. Row Expressway between Walker Road and Central Avenue around 9 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Windsor police closed the eastbound and westbound lanes of E.C. Row until about 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. Three people were taken to the hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries. No information has been provided on their condition.

A red sedan at the scene had serious damage, police say that some of the victims had to be removed from their vehicles by firefighters.

Police are still investigating the crash to determine what happened.

The accident is one of many that occurs on E.C. Row Expressway every year. Between wrong way drivers, distracted drivers and drunk drivers, thousands of motorists on the expressway are put at risk by negligent actions.

In May 2015, a study by Windsor Citys Engineer, Operations Department and Transportation Planning Division revealed that the intersection of Banwell Road and E.C. Row Express way was one of the most dangerous intersections between 2009 and 2013. More than 125 accidents were reported in the area during that time period.
