Three Local Accidents

On Aug. 24, OPP warned motorists to slow down and keep an eye out for motorcyclists after a deadly summer for riders. As of that announcement, OPP had responded to 14 fatal auto accidents, including five involving motorcycles.

Since then, there have been several additional motorcycle accidents. Most recently, three separate accidents have resulted in two injuries and one death.

On Sept. 7, a 52-year-old man died from injuries he suffered from a collision on Morris Road just outside of Tilbury. According to reports, the man was traveling west on Morris Road on a motorcycle when he collided with a Ford Escape traveling east between Richardson Side Road and Lee Avenue.

The following day, a motorcyclist was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Felix Avenue and Tecumseh Road.

Then on Sept. 11, another motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital with several fractured bones after a collision with a car on County Road 42 and Lauzon Parkway.
