Two Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Hwy. 401 in Tecumseh

wrong way traffic signTwo people were sent to the hospital after a wrong-way crash on Highway 401 Monday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Tecumseh responded to a collision between two pickup trucks at about 3:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes near Dougall Parkway.

Police say that one of the trucks was travelling east in the westbound lanes. Both drivers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

An 81-year-old man from LaSalle has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm. This is the second wrong-way crash reported on Hwy. 401 in a week.

Tecumseh OPP is reminding drivers to stay vigilant and aware while on the road. Anyone who finds themselves travelling in the wrong direction should pull over to the nearest shoulder, stop and contact the police for immediate help.
