A 14-year-old was rushed to the local hospital with life-altering injures after being hit by a car in Kingsville on Sunday afternoon.
Essex County OPP and EMS were called to the accident scene on County Road 20 near Simmers Avenue.
Police say that around 4:30 p.m., a car travelling in the eastbound lane crossed over into the westbound lane and struck one of two teens walking together on the gravel shoulder.
The driver of the car kept going, but eventually returned to the scene. The investigation is still ongoing and charges are currently pending against the driver.
