Two people were taken to a local area hospital Saturday morning following a collision in Lakeshore that resulted in serious injuries.
Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene on Country Road 42 between West Belle River Road and Rourke Line Road at around 9:30 a.m. There was one driver in each vehicle.
A 69-year-old woman from Chatman was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and an 18-year-old man from Essex was transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The area was closed for numerous hours while police investigated the accident scene. The exact cause of the crash is still unknown at this time.
