Five People Injured, One Killed in Four Essex County Auto Accidents

police car lights flashingOntario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating four auto collisions that occurred in Essex County that resulted in five injuries and one death. 

On Friday afternoon, OPP confirmed the driver of black SUV who was injured in a head-on auto collision with a dump truck on Thursday died at a local hospital. The driver of the SUV was traveling south on Howard Avenue south of Concession 7 and crossed into the northbound lane, striking the dump truck at around 1:40 p.m. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

On Sunday evening, the Amherstburg Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle collision that left one person injured. Amherstburg Fire says the crash occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday on North Townline Road between Broderick Road and Howard Avenue in McGregor. Although few details have been released about the accident, the injured party was placed in the care of EMS. The extent of the injured party’s injuries is unknown.

Additionally, OPP is investigating another auto collision that occurred Sunday night after a pickup truck crashed into a transport truck on Huron Church Road. According to OPP, the driver of the pickup rear ended the transport truck around 7:30 p.m. at College Avenue. Although firefighters removed two people from the pickup, both have been treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Furthermore, a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 in Kingsville closed the highway for approximately five hours on Monday morning. The collision occurred between County Road and Graham Sideroad between a pick truck and a tractor-trailer. Although two people were involved in the crash, neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
