We are pleased to share that Irina Rosca, one of our associates, ran a jury focus group this week to help prepare one of her cases for trial.
Irina’s background made this week’s exercise a natural fit. Testing a case in front of a jury focus group means putting real evidence in front of everyday community members to learn how they respond, long before a courtroom ever comes into play.
Irina joined our firm in 2018 and has spent her career building a strong foundation in trial advocacy. She currently chairs the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association’s Women Trial Lawyers Caucus and sits on the Advocates’ Society’s Young Advocates Standing Committee. She has also coached the University of Windsor’s Tort Law Moot Competition, giving her regular hands-on experience helping others sharpen their courtroom skills.
Frank Piazza, also an associate at our firm, stepped into the defence role for the evening, putting Irina’s case to the test with a round of cross-examination.
Irina shared her own thoughts on the evening:
“There is tremendous value in hearing how members of the community view the evidence, discuss the issues, and identify both the strengths and weaknesses of a case. Their honest feedback will help us ensure that we will present our client’s story as clearly and effectively as possible.”
