What Exactly Is a Jury Focus Group?

A jury focus group brings together a small group of community members to review and respond to elements of an upcoming case, much like a jury would do during a real trial.

Participants listen to a presentation of facts and arguments, then share their reactions, questions, and impressions. Lawyers use this feedback to understand how everyday people interpret evidence, which arguments resonate, and where explanations may need to be clearer.

This informal, structured process plays an important role in trial preparation.
