Iran Plane Crash Claims The Lives of Five University of Windsor Students

The University of Windsor has confirmed that at least five individuals who died in the Iran plane crash were members of the UWindsor student and research community.

Ukrainian International Airlines’ Flight PS752 crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran’s main airport on Wednesday. A total of 176 people were on board, among them many international students.

UWindsor president Robert Gordon released the following statement:

“The entire University of Windsor is heartbroken by this news and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of everyone impacted by this terrible tragedy.”

The university will be providing counselling and peer support services around campus to those affected by the tragedy.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced in the coming days.
