Two people were transported to the hospital Sunday evening with serious injuries following a crash between an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a motorcycle.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service and other first emergency services responded to the accident scene on Charing Cross Road near Middle Line at around 6:50 p.m.
Both vehicles were travelling in the southbound lanes when the motorcycle attempted to pass an ATV when it turned left into the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with life-threatening injuries and then airlifted to another hospital in London. The driver of the ATV also suffered serious harm and was taken to a local area hospital.
The total damage sustained with both vehicles amounts to about $10,000. The police are asking anyone with additional information about the collision to please contact the Constable at 519-355-1092.
See If You Are Eligible for Compensation
Driving an ATV or motorcycle offers less protection than other motor vehicles and less visibility by other drivers in the event of an accident. The injuries sustained are also often more severe, leading to costly medical bills. If you have been hurt in a collision caused by negligent driving, we encourage that you consult with an experienced legal professional.
Our Chatham-Kent car accident lawyers at Greg Monforton & Partners are prepared to evaluate your situation and determine whether you have a valid claim for compensation in a free consultation. You may be eligible to pursue compensation to help cover your injuries, property damage and more.
