We’re so pleased to announce that today, our associate Irina Rosca was appointed to the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association’s Board of Directors!
This appointment recognizes Irina’s ongoing commitment to advancing the interests of injured Ontarians and improving access to justice across the province.
What Is The OTLA?
The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association began in 1991 as an organization of plaintiff lawyers. These lawyers represent individuals harmed by others’ negligence or wrongdoing.
OTLA’s purpose centers on three priorities: ensuring all Ontarians can access justice, strengthening the civil justice system, and advocating for people who’ve been injured or suffered losses.
The association serves more than 1,400 members throughout Ontario. OTLA provides continuing education, facilitates knowledge exchange among members, and engages in provincial advocacy. The organization also champions safety through initiatives like Helmets on Kids, a program that has given more than 45,000 bicycle helmets to children across the province since 2002.
What Does The OTLA Board of Directors Do?
OTLA is governed by a 30-member Board of Directors representing the eight regional court districts across Ontario. Directors are elected for three-year terms and can serve up to three terms.
The Board meets regularly throughout the year. Board members work through seven main committees focused on policy, governance, public relations, member services, access to justice, and continuing legal education.
Board members volunteer hundreds of hours annually to advance OTLA’s mission and support members across the province.
Irina’s Ongoing Involvement and Leadership in Ontario
Irina’s appointment to the Board adds to her already significant involvement in Ontario’s legal community.
Irina currently serves as Chair of the OTLA Women Trial Lawyers Caucus for 2025-2026. She’s also a Member-at-Large on The Advocates’ Society Personal Injury and Insurance Practice Group and sits on the Young Advocates Standing Committee.
Beyond her professional associations, Irina has volunteered extensively in Windsor-Essex. She’s worked with the Brain Injury Association of Windsor Essex County, sat on the Spinal Cord Injury Southwestern Ontario Professionals Executive Committee, and taught as a coach for the University of Windsor’s Tort Law Moot Competition.
Our Commitment to the Legal Community
At Greg Monforton & Partners, we believe in supporting the broader legal profession and working toward a justice system that serves injured Ontarians effectively.
Irina’s appointment to the OTLA Board reflects that commitment. Her voice will help shape how Ontario’s plaintiff lawyers advocate for access to justice and support injury victims across the province.
We’re proud of Irina’s dedication to this work and grateful for her ongoing leadership.
