Laura Nicola Promoted to Senior Associate

We’re thrilled to announce that Laura Nicola has been promoted to Senior Associate at Greg Monforton & Partners!

This promotion matters to us — and not just as a professional milestone. Laura represents exactly the kind of lawyer we want representing Windsor/Essex families when they need help most.

Laura started with our firm as a summer student. She completed her articles here, was called to the Bar in 2019, and has been with us ever since. That choice — to stay, to build her practice here, to grow alongside our team — says something about her commitment.

Recent Work at Greg Monforton & Partners

Laura worked as co-counsel with Managing Partner Joanna Sweet on a seven-year legal battle that concluded following a 15-day trial. The jury delivered a $2 million verdict for a catastrophically injured motorcyclist. That verdict was the largest car crash jury award in a Windsor courtroom in recent years. That kind of result doesn’t come from showing up at trial — it comes from years of preparation and unwavering commitment. It also comes from refusing to back down when insurance companies offer far less than injured people deserve.

Beyond her client work, Laura often contributes to Ontario’s personal injury bar through the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. She’s presented at OTLA conferences and their Building Blocks webinar series, sharing what she knows with other lawyers across the province.

Laura’s roots in Windsor run deep. She came here in 2009 to pursue her education and never left. She completed her undergraduate degree, her master’s, and her law degree all at the University of Windsor. She speaks both English and Italian fluently.

This promotion reflects years of hard work, growth, and results. We’re proud of Laura, and we’re grateful she’s chosen to build her career here.
