We are proud to announce that partner Jennifer Bezaire has been appointed to the Ontario Civil Rules Committee by the Honorable Geoffrey B. Morawetz, the Chief Justice of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The term is for three years and will begin on Wednesday, September 1.
The Ontario Civil Rules Committee was established to deal with the practices and procedures governing civil proceedings in the province. The committee is comprised of 29 members including lawyers, judges and court service representatives. From time to time, the committee provides information to the public and the bar regarding changes to any rules made or proposed.
Jennifer had this to say about her upcoming involvement in the committee:
“This appointment is an incredible honour and I am excited to be involved in a process which will directly affect how cases move through our court system”.
Jennifer’s previous appointment was as a sessional instructor for the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor, where she continues to teach auto insurance law to second and third-year law students. She is also currently a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association’s (OTLA) Executive Board of Directors.
