Woman and Child Hit By Car While Crossing Downtown Street

Recent reports have surfaced in relation to a car vs. pedestrian accident that took place near City Hall Square South and McDougall Street in downtown Windsor on Wednesday afternoon.

According to witnesses, the driver of a black Chevrolet Cruze sedan with Michigan plates collided with a woman and her child while they were attempting to cross the street.

The lady was crossing, right here, not at the crosswalk, just behind…. The driver made a left-hand turn and hit her.

…said Ms. Jennifer Humicka city worker that was trimming shrubs near city hall that witnessed the accident and called 911.

Both the woman and child were rushed to hospital with the extent of their injuries unknown, while the driver of the sedan and his vehicle seemed to have no visible damage.

Local Police are investigating the scene and reviewing the available crash data.
