A Windsor woman is in critical condition after she was ejected from a minivan that collided with a pickup truck and a bridge.

Chatham-Kent Police said the crash happened just before 5 p.m. Tuesday at Winterline Road and Maple Line. The intersection was closed for several hours as officers investigated.

Police said a Honda Odyssey minivan, with eight people inside, was headed south on Winterline when a Chevy Silverado pickup truck slammed into it. The impact caused the minivan to strike a bridge abutment.

A passenger in the van was ejected. The 54-year-old Windsor woman was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance then immediately airlifted to a hospital in London. Police said she has life-threatening injuries.

Four other passengers in the minivan, all from Windsor, were treated at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for moderate injuries. The other three people in the van weren't hurt. The pickup driver, who was alone, also wasn't hurt.
