An SUV driven by a 26 year old was struck by a train in Essex County on Thursday morning around 11 a.m. The train dragged the SUV a kilometer as it shattered all of the windows, ripped off the tires, and completely crumpled the car.
This accident occurred on Wallace Line between County Road 42 and County Road 22 in Lakeshore. The man driving the vehicle was alone and transported to Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police have yet to determine if this was a suicide attempt or why the vehicle was parked on the highly visible and marked train tracks.
