Teenage Essex Pedestrian Fatally Injured In Car Accident

Authorities from Ontario Provincial Police have recently released details on a fatal car vs. pedestrian accident that took place on County Road 50 and involved a 16 year old Essex resident.

According to reports, Mr. Andrew Gyorgy was pushing his dirt bike on the side of the road just near Gloucester Drive when he was hit by a vehicle heading westbound on the motorway at approximately 9:30 p.m on Friday, May 30th.

In a statement from 18 year old Mr. Michael Barrona fellow dirt bike rider that was made aware of the accident by a friend and when to investigate:

He said there was a dirt bike accident, someone got hit by a car and we all ride together out here so he was making sure I was all right…. We just came to check to see if we knew who it was and if it was a friend,”

The name of the driver of the minivan involved in the accident has not yet been released and the OPP is continuing the investigation into the incident.
