Highway 401 between Puce and Manning Roads has reopened after a five-car crash in the westbound lanes at Puce Road reduced traffic flow to one lane Thursday afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m. one car rear-ended another as traffic was stopped and being diverted off the highway at Manning Road because the 401 was closed most of the day following a crash Thursday morning. The early morning crash required road repairs and that section of highway was opened at 5:30 p.m.
Three westbound lanes of traffic at Puce Road were reduced to one lane but the road was cleared of wreckage by 9:30 p.m., according to the Ministry of Transportation. Three people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, OPP Sgt. Rick Tonial said.
