Laura Pearce to Deliver Opening Presentation at OTLA’s Spring Conference

The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association is holding their Spring Conference in Toronto on Thursday, May 30, where our own Laura Pearce will deliver the opening presentation, "Housekeeping Claims since McIntyre: Has the Landscape Changed?"

Laura M. Pearce, Housekeeping Claims Since McIntyre: Has the Landscape Changed?

Ms. Pearce's speech will be based on her paper analyzing the six cases that have cited the McIntyre? decision made in May 2009. The paper, available in PDF here, details the damages that can be suffered when an individual loses the ability to perform housekeeping, and how the decision in McIntyre established the groundwork to analyze such a loss.

The conference is titled "SETTLED!: Sowing the Seeds for Settlement" and commences at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, closing at 12:40 p.m. Friday. The conference will feature over 30 speakers, 4 panel discussions and several luncheons offered by practice area and experience level. The program has been accredited by the Law Society and qualifies for the 2014 LawPro Risk Management Premium credit.

Interested Ontario law students, clerks and legal professionals can register for the conference online. Registration fees range from $55 - $900 to attend both days.

The conference will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the South Building, Level 700. The convention centre is located at 222 Bremner Blvd. in Toronto, M5V 3L9.
