It has been reported that on Saturday, January 11th a two vehicle collision occurred on Highway 40 just near Heritage Line, resulting in the death of one motorist and the hospitalization of two other people also involved in the crash.
Police Constable Janine Belanger has confirmed that initial results from investigations have determined that the Toyota of 53 year old Toronto resident Antony Nascimento crossed into the path of an on coming Chrysler, resulting in the death of Mr Nascimento.
A passenger in Mr Nascimento’s vehicle51 year old Rooshmanie Rambarran also from Toronto was taken to a nearby hospital. At this stage, the extent of her injuries are unknown.
The driver of the Chrysler – 19 year old Ms Catherine Caron from Wallaceburg – survived the crash but was also taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening personal injuries.
The investigation continues however, charges are not expected to be filed.
