A four-year-old girl was rushed to hospital Sunday after her father accidentally hit her with his car, pinning her between two vehicles, Windsor police say.
The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Victoria Avenue.
Police said the father thought his car was safely in park when he accidentally hit the gas pedal. His daughter was between the two family vehicles when the car moved forward, pinning her between the cars.
According to Sgt. Al Thompson, the mother jumped between the two vehicles which may have buffered the impact. The mother sustained minor injuries bumps and bruises.
The little girl was taken to Windsor Regional Hospital and later transferred to Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital, where she remains in stable condition.
The Windsor Police conducted an investigation and concluded there would be no charges laid at this time.
