Vehicle Rollover Leads to Fatalities on Ontario Highway

minivan accidentWhen a minivan rolled over in Leamington, Ontario, yesterday, two people were thrown from the vehicle and were later pronounced dead, The Windsor Star reported today.

Stephanie Moniz, an Ontario Provincial Police constable, said that four other people from the Honda Odyssey were injured, according to the Star.

Tire marks and debris could be seen near the minivan, the newspaper noted, adding that the accident took place between Morse Road and County Road 31 on Highway 3.

That part of the highway is slated for improvements this year. windsoriteDOTca, an online newspaper, recently wrote that in May, reconstruction work would be done on the portion of Highway 3 spanning from County Road 27 to County Road 34.

The Windsor Star wrote about the pending roadwork last November.

The reconstruction project east of County Road 27 will include drainage improvements and a review of roadside safety measures, the newspaper said in an article.
